Really, really good long run for me. We did Suicidal Tendencies out in Santa Clara. I had only done the trail one other time before this, and I ran it much better this time around. The overall pace was pretty quick, I thought, for a trail run. We just kept pushing right along. Overall, good day to run.

My running hasn't been at it's potential as of late, and I'm realizing that that can definitely be traced back to my enormous lack of blogging. There are other things for sure and even bigger things that are having an effect, but this needs to be more of a priority; it's a way for me to hold myself accountable every single day. At renegade camp, we all committed to the goals knowing that it would affect every part of our life. For my team, I need to take this moment of recommitment to do everything right; workouts, blogging, sleep, drinking water, eating properly, stretching and representing the team in everything I do. I'm sorry, brothers, for dropping the ball. It won't happen again. But next time, call me out. I need the help.

Good session of weights to start of the day, although I failed to get my thrusts in. Coach decided to have me race this afternoon in Bloomington Hills.

Going into the race, I was unnecessarily nervous; I felt like throwing up. I raced anyway. I don't know what it is, but racing ain't what it used to be for me. None of my races have felt very good at all since the time trial. I'm really really trying to tell myself that I'm putting in the time and work for it to pay off on the course, but it just hasn't yet. It's really frustrating, but perhaps this is just one of those trials for me that I need to endure and trust in God's timing. Coach Robs said something to me after the race that helped quite a bit. He told me to stop focusing on what I need to be for the team, and remember the things that I already bring to the team that makes us better. I'll give that a try for the next little bit. Congrats to Scottie for another killer race! He is the gutsiest guy I know and we all need to learn from him. Keep working hard, Scott!

I think I'm gonna go into Murray a little pissed off instead of nervous. That'll help me go for every moment that there's a chance for doubt.

Morning was chill and 5 minutes less than usual. I had a youth council meeting at 5, so I had to take the lower end of the minutes. It was a decent green springs run, a little slow for the fast nature of the route. Got 100% on my Medical Anatomy & Physiology test today. Great day to be a Panther

Weights was rough today because the girls basketball team decided to hop in the weight room with us. Shout out to Corbin for taking Coach B's crap and dropping the squat bar. The afternoon run was way dope. We made our way to the Washington Parks Department and meandered around up there. I found a soccer ball there and we kicked it on the rest of our run. Alex even took it with him on his 200's. It was a pretty good bonding run. Excited to race tomorrow!!

I had a good race. I was hungry and a little pissed like I said I would be. It really paid off; I was feeling really good and constantly attacking. My finish although wasn't what it has been. I just need to connect the different phases of racing.

I'm gonna carry on the success into Hurricane and send a message.

Pretty nice workout on the State course. It wasn't too tough, but I think it was a good workout for me. It was really great to be out there with my bros. It got me thinking a lot.

It goes around the rocks.

I freaking love 80 minute runs. It's definitely the perfect amount of time. I had another good hill workout on a road by Dixie rock and I just felt good overall this morning. Afternoon was way chill; we went over to 2450 park for 10 minutes of barefoot grass. Great day for running

Ran before weights today because of trilogy. I pushed the pace a bit (I tend to do that when I'm alone.) Afternoon felt really hot, and I was just a tad worn out, but I persisted to the full time. I'm ready to race tomorrow.

Well I went into the race really excited and pretty confident. But it wasn't a good race. I can't really say I felt bad or anything. As hard as it is to say, I just did not step up. What am I gonna start doing when it starts to hurt? I've gotta make a plan. I'm glad my teammates had really good races. I'm gonna learn from this race, but it isn't gonna ruin my next race or the rest of my season.

AM just weights

PM over 48:27; 7:22 pace; 8x striders

Crazy storm this morning so none of us got to run after weights. In the afternoon, we had to wait a bit for the storm to blow over, so coach had us do some ab work as a team. It was a tough little workout to be totally honest, but I'm sure I would get better at it with a few more tries. We just did a chill run down River Rd. followed with some striders. Pretty good day to run.

Morning run felt really good. I told the guys about my weird dream last night. Did plyos for the first time this season and followed it up with the usual yoga session with Fiji. We did the same workout today that we did, I think, two weeks ago. I'd say I did a little better than the last time. I really really pushed the middle. That's where bad races have gotten me, so I decided to focus on that. However, my finish wasn't what it should have been. Always things to work on. That's the beautiful thing about running: no matter who you are or what you've done, you can work on certain things to "make weak things become strong" (Ether 12:27).

The run this morning was just splendid. We went down into Hell hole and turned up towards the dump. We went along the top of a ridge in order to get to a turning point. It was just a really fun run with my bros. The car wash was pretty good. I was at the drying station, but I was also the tip man. We got A TON of tips; I bet there was more than $300 in that bucket. I got a bit of a sunburn on my shoulders. No worries though. Good day

Long run this morning was really good. I think I can easily say that long runs are no longer something I have to worry about. It wasn't too hard of a workout, but the last mile of the second set, I was feeling it a bit. I endured it well though. Afternoon was a grass run at 2450 with the boys. We stole some kids' shoes but only for a minute. It was a great day for running, and the next will be even better.

I thought I had a good workout while I was doing it, but when I looked at my reps, I did not hit the paces I needed to. I guess I can’t really trust myself to do workouts on my own; I need to be with my team.

My Dad told me I should try running out front, so I did. I think it actually helped; it set a pace and groove that was harder to fall out of. It felt like a good race, but the time wasn’t quite reflective of that. It’s all good though. s/o the AF for the perfect score

My long run was pretty decent. I definitely kept a progressive pace, but I just didn’t go the full minutes. Whether I should’ve or not prolly could’ve gone either way. Either way, pretty good run. Afternoon was chill, and we had a good meeting with some inspirational thoughts from Roberts.

Usual morning run this morning, but a slim crew. We followed with some plyos. As for the workout in the afternoon, I’d say it was my best workout of the season. I stuck it with the boys every rep. It was freakin tough, but when it got hard, I pictured that course up in Sugarhouse Park; that helped a lot. It reminds me a lot of the quote I chose on Monday: “Faith in the endgame helps you live through the months or years of buildup.” This will be a workout I can look back on during my struggles.

Nice little run into Green Springs. I’ve noticed none of our runs lately have been slow; they’ve all been a real nice pace and that’s pretty good. My calves have felt tight all this week, but it hasn’t affected my running at all. So that’s good.

Eh would be the best way to describe this race for me. Maybe I got out too quick, but I doubt it. It probably just came down to me doing it or not doing it. I’ll look at it a little more to see what I can learn.

Finally got some good sleep. Did my run in between sessions and I was feeling really good. It was a pretty flat run, so I just kept the pace under 6:50. On the run, I found a pretty nice bow release, so that was a score. Give me a comment if you know what a bow release is.
