Today was a bucket list day for me. Last week, Coach told me he wanted me to run the 1600m at the JV meet in Cedar, and I said alright. I wasn't too excited just because I didn't feel that the 1600 is my race. Nevertheless, I was going to race my hardest. Well the meet in Cedar got cancelled because the track was covered in snow and Cedar was just not in running conditions. The meet got moved to D-Hills at the last minute, and my race was still on. All throughout the race, I felt really good. I led most of the race and pushed the third lap pretty hard like Coach had instructed us right before. Mikey and Evan, who had really great races, passed me on the fourth lap and I ended up third with a 4:52; this was the first time I had broke 5. What's significant about that is that about a year ago, when I wasn't even someone who ran, I told myself that I wanted to break 5 in a mile sometime in my life, and today I did it. Just something cool. Overall, great day for running.
