I paid for it. This morning run was quite easily the longest, most difficult run I've ever endured; endured is an accurate word for it. Nevertheless, I got through it, even though I was tempted to drop out since we ran right by my house. For afternoon practice, we ran indoors due to the lightning and pouring rain. Running indoors is also always something I have to endure.
Coach Roberts and Coach Holt both said some really important things in the meeting today. From Roberts, I learned to see obstacles as a way to get on higher ground and to look at goals in steps rather than as a whole. From Holt, I was reminded that anyone can make an impact on our team and that I can do amazing things.

PM Panther Relays DMR 800m, 4x800m, 4x400m
Today was my first Panther Relays! I had no idea that other schools came; I figured it was just our own team. Started the meet off with a solid Distance Medley in which I ran the 800m. I'm pretty sure my split was around 2:10 and we definitely went sub 12 minutes. That was pretty good considering we were going just a bit quicker than workout pace. I then had the real race with the 4x800. This was the race that really mattered to PV since Coach made our teams, and the losing team has to buy the winning team donuts. Although my team was not the winning team, I was relieved that were not the losing team. I'm guessing I had another 2:10 split on that. In the final race, the 4x400, I had a really nice 56 second split. That was really big for me since that was a whole second faster than my Hurricane 400 and I wasn't quite going all out. Overall, really nice Panther Relay.

Ran the 800m today and it was pretty dang good! PR'ed with a 2:04.43 and scored a point. I felt like CRAP afterward though. It was prolly because I didn't eat breakfast. Live and learn I guess.

Longer run in the morning because of the youngster meet after school. Took it up over Foremaster and up the river trail. Talked a lot about this new show called 13 Reasons Why. It's about this girl who commits suicide and the 13 people that made her want to kill herself. That got us talking about suicide in general and it was pretty interesting what we all had to say.

Personally, SUPER DOPE race! Took my split at 2:02.48 and that's truly what it felt like. As a team, it was decent. 3 seconds off the school record, and we thought we had it for a minute. It's alright. We'll get it next tear. Took a the same, dope cool-down run as last Friday with Xander and we had a quality conversations about our running futures and missions.

Didn't wake up early to do the run, so I had to do it in the afternoon. It ended up working pretty well because Xander was opening his mission call at 6:45, so I just ran to his house and ran home. He's assigned to Peru, Iquitos. It was really cool to see him get his call just because we had a good conversation about it just yesterday. Overall, good day for running.

Super dope run this morning with some of the bros. We decided to do the marathon course, so we started right below Snow Canyon State Park. We were flying down the course, so we had to extend just a bit at the end. The fartleks were easy and the weather was great. Overall, pretty cheese as far as long runs go.

Took a run to coaches house and helped him move some rocks. He told us they were big and heavy, but we didn't know they were that big and heavy. It took some hard work to get them just right, but nevertheless, we got it done. He seemed glad to get it done.

Came to morning practice with the team a little confused because Caroline told some of us that practice was at 6 and that we were doing the workout in the morning. But that was just for the girls. Earlier today, I had mixed emotions about the workout; I was excited to do a tough workout, but I thought I was gonna have to do it on my own because of another commitment. However, I managed to get out of it, and boy am I glad I did. I needed my bros for this one. We started with 3x 1000m at CV(3:35) w/5 min recovery. We hit those maybe a little harder than we should have, coming out 5-10 seconds quick on each of them. Next, we had the important part of the workout with 4x 400m at 1600m pace(1:13) w/2 min recovery. I beat the crap out of those; first repeat was right on and I got faster each time, working down to a 1:10 on the last two. Then to finish it off, 4x 200m at 800m pace(:30) w/2 min recovery. I gained a lot of confidence from these. After coming out 2 seconds slow on the first one, I realized how much I needed to get after the 200's. Crushed the next three with :29, :28, and :28. This was a KILLER workout, but it gave me a lot of confidence that I'll do something incredible this weekend.

I definitely will not forget this race. In abridgement, I ran an unbelieveable initial 750m and a very very very bad last 50m. Ended up with a 2:02.32 and the worst physical feeling of my life. Pretty good long run this morning. I was confused about what the workout was, but I pushed through anyway. Took kind of the same route as the long fun a few weeks ago, but instead turning right onto Washington Fields Rd, rather than left. Learned that this was our penultimate long run of the season. Gonna miss the seniors.

Coach put this week's workout in the morning, so we met up an did 15 min warm with the last 5 min at easy tempo. We then moved into the workout of 2x 200m, 400m, 800m, 400m, 200m. 200's were at 800m pace, 400's were at 1600m pace, and 800's were at 3200m pace with 2 min recovery between the 200/400 and 400/800, 4 min recovery between 800/400, and 5 min recovery between sets. This workout was actually harder than I anticipated it to be. While, my 200's and 400's were quite good, both of the 800's were sluggish and slow especially on the second lap. I was glad to get through it. I suppose this was just one of those workouts that you gotta get through; I bet everyone has those days. Overall, pretty up and down day for running.

This was the most epic run of all time! Initially, it is because we kicked a ball for the entire run! There were some close calls, but we got from the school back to the school(#kickit). The second reason is after our striders, Dallen threw a jug filled with water off the top of the dungeon as a celebration of our success. When it landed, it flipped up right and we all went nuts. Coach filmed it with a phone that he found on our run. Overall, freakin epic day!

Headed up to Orem today for the Tiger Trials. The drive up was lit; Carson, Logan, Corbin, Evan and I played a game called Grisius. It's pretty much just making up a story as you go along, very similar to Dungeons and Dragons. (I have used the word "dungeon" in my past two posts, interesting.) We got there and did a shake-out run around UVU's campus, which was actually way dope. I wouldn't mind going to school there. Anyway, it was really cold and windy, which made the 200's pretty tough, but it was no biggy. Excited for racing tomorrow.

Well, another State Qualifying effort, but, unfortunately, another time short of State Qualifying. This time was more out of my control than last week though. About 30 minutes before my race the wind started blowing and didn't stop. It took about 3 seconds of each of my laps. Ended up with a 2:04.96 and I was pretty alright with it. I am going to State Qualify in the 800m.
